FILM

This section brings together my moving-image works, ranging from experimental animation to site-specific projection and documentary. Each piece explores how personal experience shifts when it’s filtered through other people, places, and collective memory—from the existential pressure of being seen, to witnessing California wildfires, to the shared sweat and joy behind a student dance performance.

Hell Is Other People

A short narrative animation inspired by the phrase “Hell is other people.” Using low-frame-rate, black-and-white drawings and repeated gestures, the film visualizes the tension of being trapped in others’ gaze and expectations. The looping movements emphasize how social interactions can feel claustrophobic, inescapable, and quietly exhausting.

Walking Through Fire

This projection mapping project transforms a school hallway into a moving memory of California wildfires. Using only stock footage, the video shifts from lush greenery to smoke-filled skies and charred hillsides. The piece recreates the disorientation of watching a familiar landscape burn and slowly turn unrecognizable.

Documentary for @bounce_psu

A documentary following our dance club’s journey to the Chinese Students Association Lantern Festival Gala. The film moves from open workshops and endless rehearsals to backstage chaos and laughter on the performance day. It focuses on the small moments—shared exhaustion, inside jokes, and quiet nerves—that build up to a few minutes on stage.
